Fashion 21, a small boutique store that was founded in Los Angeles in 1984, later transformed into the well-known brand Forever 21. Originally catering to the Korean American community with Korean clothing designs, founders Do Won Chang and Jin Sook Chang expanded their inventory to include trendy American styles as the store gained popularity beyond Los Angeles. Forever 21, primarily focused on women's fashion, eventually opened more locations nationwide. Men's clothing, girls' clothing, and home goods were also sold both in stores and on their website. With approximately 620 stores worldwide at its peak, the brand faced financial difficulties and underwent restructuring in 2019. This led to the closure of several international stores, while a group of mall operators acquired the remaining stores in the United States. Today, Forever 21 operates mainly as an online clothing brand, although a few physical locations still exist. Despite their financial challenges, Forever 21 maintains its appeal as a go-to destination for affordable fast fashion, offering all the latest trends at reasonable prices.
